Text or call?

Ok i have been talking to this girl on myspace and i asked her if she would like to hang out sometime and she said yes and gave me her phone number. I dont know her that well at all, but we see each other in school sometimes (high school). I am really shy and kinda want to avoid the whole awkwardness of calling her for the first time so do you think it is too lame just to text her or should i just call? thank you

Text or call?

A call is bad enough. Texting is even farther removed. Never let technology get in the way of communication. The farther removed you are from a face to face conversation, the more likely things will be misinterpreted.

I know that it is more difficult, but a face to face conversation allows you to send and receive facial expressions and body language as well as words. With a phone call, at least you get the sound of the voices and the inflection of the voices.

Texting, blogging or email (or even letter writing) just exchanges words, nothing extra. They should only be used when no direct contact is possible.

Call her. If you are really interested, make a date to meet in person. This is the best way to allow a relationship to grow.

DON'T TEXT HER!!! Did I make that clear? I know, it is hard at first and awkward to call someone but texting is so impersonal. She might as well be getting a text from a machine. Take a deep breath and call her. Best of luck to you.
